How fic writers who write English as a second language have courage to go and just publish?! I sit on around 33000 words, mostly grammatically betaed by a native speaker even, and I'm still paralyzed by fear. Because I'm still not as good as when...well, you get the drill.

In 2019, we take a deep breath and post anyway! Fic doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to tell a story.

Do the thing! :)

it takes some courage and you are definitely scared to do it… but it’s really worth it. Just remember to treat yourself kindly… I know I sometimes beat myself that it takes me longer to write, or that I cannot produce 2k words on a day with glorious descriptions and that sometimes it’s all a mess until my wonderful beta comes to help… but then I remember.. “hey I’m doing this in another language… I’m *doing* this” and I simply carry on.

REading a lot helps and having a good beta that you can definitely rely on to help you in it. Also, don’t be shy to ask for help with your beta suggesting new ways of wording things. I used to joke with @sambethe that characters in my fics, when in the throes of passion,  did only the following: sigh, do things softly, caress, collapse into each other and thrust. But with time, she’s worked with me to find new words, to suggest new ways of saying the same thing I wanted to say but in a new way…

so don’t hesitate to do it and asking for help!

hey op do you know how absolutely staggering it is that you’re writing fiction in your second language????????  PLEASE do us all a favour and publish it anyway!  I dream of being as capable and brave as you

I don’t know about y’all, but whenever I find some cool official YYH art it drives me nuts when I can’t find the full-sized images, or when the largest images I have don’t satisfy me. So I tried to make a vector out of my favorite picture of Kurama.

Boy, let me tell you

I haven’t realized how bad I was at drawing until I started making this one. It took me 6 or 7 hours. It’s not the finest result, as I expected to do better, but I’m so tired right now that I’m just gonna pretend it’s bomb. Hope you enjoy it. Bonus: brunet Kurama

Hi! I know you probably get asked this a lot and I know it's probably really annoying now, but... are you going to post any more of the yuhaku doujin project? I really want to see more and see more of the character cards and everything. I'M REALLY SORRY FOR BOTHERING YOU! ~🥔

Surprisingly, no one has asked about it! I’ve translated about 4 additional scripts and they’re currently in @logicheartsoul’s hands. She’s the magic worker for making the pages look professional! It’s definitely still an ongoing project for both of us, so please stick around! We appreciate your support and interest! ❤️

@ anon, hahahaha, I’ve been meaning to work on it this week, but I have been doing so many errands and adulting things I have been meaning to do for months this week since it’s been the second week from coming back from my trip! The list of things I need to do should be done by tomorrow so I can work on it this weekend.

Thank you though for being so patient and supportive!

apparently food inspections stopped bc of the shutdown so things bout to be real fucked up for some of us

“The Food and Drug Administration has stopped routine food safety inspections of seafood, fruits, vegetables and many other foods at high risk of contamination because of the federal government’s shutdown…”

Most companies are probably going to continue their regular food safety procedures, but a few things you can do to reduce some personal risk:

Buy hard, solid veggies and fruits (apples, melons) or ones with rinds (bananas are probably fine). Scrub the peel/rind thoroughly with soap and water before consumption.

The more solid and dense the meat, the less likely it is for contamination to spread very far. Buy your meat in solid cuts, NOT GROUND. Especially not ground chicken rn, salmonella bad.

Cook things thoroughly. Follow guidelines for the internal temperatures meat is supposed to reach and stick to those guidelines. Use a meat thermometer. Make your steaks well done for a while.

I’d stay away from shellfish as a whole if I were you. The diseases you can get from it are some of the nastier ones. No sushi for a while, too. If you have fish, make sure it was frozen following anti-parasitic guidelines and cook thoroughly.

AVOID LEAFY GREENS. This is where we’ve been seeing the most outbreaks lately, so be very careful.

The pregnant, elderly, immunocompromised, and the very young are the ones most at risk in an outbreak. If you are in one of these groups, be extremely cautious and avoid soft cheeses and prepackaged deli meats. Check on friends and family in these groups. Report symptoms of foodborne illness to a doctor so they can report to the state health depts that are still running.

Even with these in mind, remember that most outbreaks of foodborne illness are due to things like improper cooking and storage. Stay safe out there, folks 💙

Just to add to washing fruits:

FUCKING USE SOAP

It sounds like a stupid idea to put something like soap on a fruit but the soap will clear off anything bad, like pesticides or any sort of disease causing thing. The skin will keep the soap from making the rest of the fruit taste bad, and if you rinse it thoroughly enough you shouldn’t even have a problem with soapy fruit. Also, do this even when not eating the skin! If you cut into the fruit, such as cutting up a melon, the knife is going to end up going right through and passing the crud from the outside to the inside on its way.

Even when the government shutdown ends like still wash your fruits with soap when you can.

This commission for @itstacobelltime was a pleasure! Of course, I’m thinking of all the things I could fix right now, but also excited to share it. Kurama’s got like a Mother Nature vibe and Hiei’s probably just still kind of in shock that he married such a knock-out that wants to smooch him in public.

P.S. I am open for commissions! In fact, I really need them to pay for my traveling expenses coming up. DDD: Please visit my website for rates.
